4 Ways to use Zapier to take Advantage of the Zerion API

Workflow Automation | Integrations

Reported by: Ben Ray, Zerion Solutions Engineer (and Black Belt Form Builder)

Not a Developer? Neither am I.  Using the Zerion API with Zapier, I can easily turn complex manual tasks into a time saving automated solution  to alleviate repetitive tasks.

Using Zapier, no development knowledge is required, which is why I absolutely love the tool. Before Zapier, integration with an on-premise server could be taxing and tedious. It could take many hours/days/weeks to build a custom web service that would properly integrate with Zerion. Using Zapier, this can now be configured in a matter of minutes!

What is the Zerion API?

The Zerion API is a set of developer tools that allow you to automate your workflows.  Below are some examples of how to put the API to use:

  • Automatically populate a look up table from your back-end database.
  • Auto-Assign records to a specific user based on a set of conditions.
  • Populate your back-end database from an Zerion record submission.
  • Automatically update Pick-lists with new options from your back-end system.

Why use Zapier?

No Developer. No Problem. Custom Web Services are replaced by Zapier in a simple field mapping interface. When a trigger is fired in Zerion (new record, new user, new form, new widget, new company profile) an action is triggered in Zapier or vice-versa. This action can be with one of the 300+ and counting Web Service Apps that Zapier supports. For a list of supported Zapier AppsClick Here.

How to use Zerion & Zapier

1Create a New Zap and select iFormBuilder as the trigger.

Choosing iFormBuilder as the trigger will give you access to the many triggers Zapier supports like:

  • New User
  • New Form
  • New Company Profile
  • New Record
  • New Widget

2 Choose an Action

Zapier’s 300+ supported apps can be used as actions for the iFormBuilder Triggers.
Check out the Zapbook!

3 Configure the Zap

All Triggers and Actions have a standard configuration process that maps fields from iFormBuilder into fields from Zapier.

4 Turn the Zap on

Once the Zap is turned on, it will send a test trigger to ensure the service is behaving appropriately.

With Zapier, you can easily take advantage of the advanced Zerion API, and begin revolutionizing how fields team collect data.  I work with customers every day who are looking to automate their workflows, and Zapier is my tool of choice for business users and developers.
