Increasing Employee Confidence

As an employer, building a team of employees and/or contractors that are engaged, satisfied and proficient is likely a top priority. You want your team to work together to accomplish target goals, to increase effectiveness and to grow both now and in the future.

It all starts with confidence.

When your team members are confident in their abilities and roles, they’re better able to perform their responsibilities while contributing to the bigger picture.

So often, we try to accomplish this level of growth and development using external motivators, rewards, bonuses and other “trackers” that feel like they should work. Unfortunately, studies have shown that these motivators are likely to backfire, leading to the opposite of the desired goal.

What’s the answer? How can you increase the confidence of your team members, and the effectiveness of your company or organization as a whole, without setting unrealistic expectations or utilizing negative motivators?

It’s a big question, one that we don’t have all the answers to, but, a great starting point might be simpler than you think, it might come down to the mobile solutions you have in place that enable your team members to carry out their responsibilities with ease.

What do Mobile Solutions have to do with Employee Confidence?

A lot, as it turns out.

When employees are equipped with solutions that help them perform at the highest level of efficiency, they’re able to feel more confident with the tasks they need to complete. This is true for all team members, from those working to collect data in the field, to those performing accounting or other back-office tasks, and everyone in between. The right tools are everything.

Taken one step further, feeling confident that they’re unable to make a major mistake could also help improve autonomy and confidence among team members. This is especially true as it relates to tasks that involve working with critical data. Confidence can become a hurdle if a team member is worried about accessing data that might be confidential, or making a mistake that could have major consequences.

Where Permissions Come into Play

Using tools like Zerion Identity Management, or ZIM, you can assign access to specific pieces of data or tools based on role, on an individual or team level. This means that your team members don’t have to worry about overstepping boundaries or making unnecessary errors, because they have the tools they need, but not the ones they do not.

Best of all, permissions are easy to change; as team roles and responsibilities change, you can modify permissions accordingly.
